ANALISIS PERSEPSI DAN MINAT MAHASISWA FAKULTAS PERTANIAN UNIVERSITAS SIMALUNGUN MENJADI PETANI

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi dan minat mahasiswa fakultas pertanian universitas simalungun menjadi petani. Metode analisis yang digunakan  adalah analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Responden diambil menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan  menggunakan rumus slovin yaitu sebanyak 92 mahasiswa kemudian untuk menentukan sampel dari setiap program studi menggunakan teknik sampel  proportional sampling Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan  bahwa Persepsi mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Simalungun mempersepsikan pekerjaan sebagai petani adalah pekerjaan yang kurang bergengsi, sulit untuk dipahami, memiliki hasil  yang tidak pasti, dan merupakan pekerjaan yang berat dan tidak adanya jaminan pendapatan disektor pertanian atau menjadi petan. Minat mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Simalungun menjadi petani itu sangatla rendah dikarenakan mungkin menurut mahasiswa bekerja sebagai petani itu hanya bisa menjadikan pekerjaan sampingan bukan sebagai pekerjaaan utama mereka.

The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions and interests of students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Simalungun University, to become farmers. the method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. Respondents were taken using the purposive sampling method and using the Slovin formula as many as 92 students then to determine the sample from each study program using the sample proportional sampling technique Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the perception of students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Simalungun University, perceives that work as a farmer is less prestigious, difficult to understand, has uncertain results, and is a tough job and there is no guarantee of income in the agricultural sector or being a farmer. The interest of students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Simalungun University, to become farmers is very low because according to students, working as farmers can only make a side job, not as their main job.
