The Use Of Problem Based Learning (PBL) To Increase Students’ Achievement In Reading Comprehension At The Eight Grade Of Smp Swasta Prama Artha

The aim of this research is to find out the using of Problem Based Learning The Students’ Achievement In Reading Comprehension At Eight Grade Students’ of SMP Swasta Prama Artha Academic Year 2022/2023. The researcher used quantitative approach with pre-experimental research design. Population of this research was eight grade with three classes which consists of 136 students and the sample of research was 34 students in one class. The technique of collecting data was pre-test and post-test. The technique of analysis data by using calculating formula. The result of this research was T_O> T_{table 5%} < T_{table 1%}(15,637 >1,692 < 2,733) so that the statistic criterion of accepted hyphotesis exists in Hyphotesis alternative (Ha) and Hyphotesis null (Ho) is rejected. It means that, the use of Problem Based Learning to increase students’ achievement in freading compmrehension at the eight grade SMP Swasta Prama Artha in academic year 2022/2023 is significant to increase students’s achievement in reading comprehension

The aim of this research is to find out the significant effect of using KWL Method in reading skills of grade X of SMA Swasta Al Washliyah 2 Serbelawan. This research used quantitative method approach. Population of this research was grade X with one class which consists of 23 students. The technique of collecting data was pre-test and post-test. The technique analysis data by using formula. The result of this research was obtained t_count₌10,86 > t_table=1,717 at the significance level ɑ=0.05 and degrees of freedom (df)= 22, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted and implies that the students taught by using KWL Method achieve a better score. It means that there is significant effect of using KWL Method in Reading Skills of Grade X at SMA Swasta Al Washliyah 2 Serbelawan. Because the using KWL Method as a method for learning English to reading ability. KWL Method a variety of features, including a dictation function, which makes it easier for students to learn and understand English as reading skills. The students should from a habit of reading by using KWL method to improve their reading skills

The objective of this research is intended to answer the problem about the Scattergories game is improve or not improve the students vocabulary skills at the seventh one (VII-1) grade students of SMP Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematang Siantar. This research was conducted at SMP Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematang Siantar. This research used quantitative with true experimental method. Population of this research was grade seventh with 2 classes which consists 61 students and the sample of this research was 30 students in one class. The technique of collecting data was pre-test and post-test. The technique of analyzing data by using some formulas. The result of the research was the mean score is 14 the standard deviation is 71 t_test of research (9,10) with the significant difference is 0,19. It means that H₀ is rejected and Hais accepted. Using Scattergories game to improve vocabulary skillthe students in seventh grade of SMP Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematang Siantar. It can be concluded that teaching vocabulary with Scattergories game make the students more active in playing the game make the students more motivated and easier to understand and get the lesson

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of YouTube videos to improve students' ability to write procedural texts and to determine students' perceptions of the application of YouTube videos. Data was collected by giving pre-test and post-test. The population of this study was 198 people and the research sample was students of class X OTKP SMK Prama Arta Bandar Huluan Private School year 2022/2023. The researcher took 1 class as a sample of class X OTKP SMK Prama Arta Bandar Huluan which consisted of 33 students. The sample was taken using saturated sampling. The results showed that the students' ability to write procedural texts using YouTube videos on the pre-test and post-test differed significantly. The t-test value is greater than the t-table. That is t-value (1.782) > t-table (1.756) and sig. (2-tailed) lower post test scores 0.000 <0.05. This shows that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It can be concluded that the application of YouTube videos is effective in improving students' ability to write procedural texts. While the average score of students' perceptions of using YouTube videos was 81. This indicated that students gave very positive responses or agreed that YouTubevideos were useful and could improve their ability to write procedural texts

The aim of this research is to find out the errors in writing descriptive text of the student’s at SMKN 3 Pematang Siantar. The researcher useddescriptive qualitative method. the population is the students of tenth grade researcher took one classes. From the calculation above, all the number of population is 68 students.So the researcher will take 34 students as a sample. The technique of collecting data was Validityand Reliability.mark omission (OM), addition (AD), misformation (MF) and misordering (MO).The occurance of omission error was 57, the occurance of addition error was 29, the occurrence of misformation error was 5 and the occurances of misordering error was 7. Occurrences which totaled was 79. The most dominant error made by students in writing descriptive text was 57 occurrences or about 72,15 % in omission. Most often errors occurred was error of omission about 29 (36,71%) occurrences. This types of error was usually caused by carelessness. Carelessness occurred when the students are not deliberate to do some mistakes, but the result showed that it was the mistake. The mistake came out from wrong written a phoneme omitted or mistyping

The aim of this research is to analyze the improvement of speaking skills by using the TEDxTalks YouTube Channel. The researcher carried out in class XI TKR 5 of the SMK SWASTA 2 TAMANSISWA PEMATANG SIANTAR. This research used the quantitative approach with an experimental design by using the one-group design by cluster sampling technique for choosing 32 students from class XI TKR 5 and every student would give the pre-test and post-test for data collection. The technique of collecting the data is by using the statistic application called SPSS 21.0 version. Based on the hypothesis testing, it is be shown that T_counted = 65,000 > T_table = 1,695 which indicates that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This statement means there is a significant differences on students’ speaking skill by using TEDxTalks YouTube Channel especially in their accuracy and fluency. The conclusion of this research is that the using of TEDxTalks YouTube Channel can significantly improve students' speaking skills, particularly accuracy and fluency

The objective of this study is to identify the significantly effect on the students’ achievement in reading comprehension by Peer Assisted Learning Strategy (PALS). This research is an experimental which was conducted at SMPN 7 Pematangsiatar. Academic year 2022/2023. The population of this research was the second grade which distributed into two classes with total 64 students. Experimental class consisted of 32 students and control class consisted 32 students. The instruments for collecting data in this research was written test in form multiple choice test, consist of 20 questions. Pre-test and post-test were conducted in both, experimental and control group. The data of post-test was analyzed by using SPSS Version 22.00. The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test scores was found that that t_count(0.970) >t_table(2.188) at the significance level α =0.05 with the degrees of freedom (df) = 31, and 0,340 for the sig (2-tailed). Ho (Peer Assisted Learning Strategy doesn’t influence to students reading comprehension) is rejected and Ha (Peer Assisted Learning Strategy influence to students in reading comprehension) is accepted. It means that there are the Influence Of Using Peer Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS) Towards Students Achievement In Reading Comprehension in Narrative Text at SMP Negeri 7 Pematangsiantar

The aim of this research was to to analyze the effect of Using Podcast media on students’s speaking skill at the eleventh th grade of SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. in the academic year 2022/2023. This research located in medan street , Kec.Siantar Martoba, Pematangsiantar. This research used quantitative approach with true experimental design. The population in this research is the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar with total sample is 32. The data were obtained by using pretest and posttest. The data of the pretest and post- test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics (SPSS 26.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of posttest scores was found that tcount = 18.296> ttable = 1.699 at the significance level a = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 29. So, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that the Using of Podcast media effect significantly on student speaking skill at SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar in academic year 2022/2023

The objective of this research was to find out the using multimedia as a teaching method improve the speaking ability of tenth grade at SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar . This research used quantitative with true experimental method. Population of this research was grade tenth with 10 classes which consists of 360 students and the sample of this research was 36 students in one class. The technique of collecting data was pre-test and posttest. The technique of analyzing data by using SPSS version 26.0. The result ofresearch was (T_counted = 65,000 > T_table = 1,689) at the significance level α =0.05 with the degrees of freedom (df) = (36-1=35) for each class so the degrees of freedom is 70. Ho( there is no significant effect of using multimedia on student’s speaking ability ) is rejected and Ha (there is a significant effect of using multimedia on student’s speaking ability) is accepted . It means there is a significant effect of the Implementation Multimedia as a Teaching Method to improved the speaking ability of tenth grade at SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar

This research was aimed at investigating to improve students’ in writing ability using Instagram as media. at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. The problem of the research is Does the use of Instagram as a Media can improve students writing skills in descriptive text at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar for the academic year 2022/2023 ?. The objective of the research is to find whether the use on Instagram as a Media can improve students’ writing skills in descriptive text at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar for the academic year 2022/2023. The research was quantitative research. For the data collection, there were pre-test and post-test. The population of this research 360 students’ in research academic year 2022/2023 with of 36 students’ was the sample. The data analysis was at tenth grade students’ stared from scoring pre-test and post-test and finding the different mean of the score. Based on the data analysis, the writer finding pre-test students’ mean score only 60,75 and after the treatment, the writer used to post-test to know students’ improve writing ability score. The result of the test found the average of the pos-test mean score test was 81,03. The teachers may try to take advantage of the use of Instagram as media to be utilized in their classroom activities to conduct an effective and interesting learning atmosphere in the classroom. So the students’ felt comfortable and enjoyed to learn so that gives a good impact on writing English skills

The problems in this research include the types and forms of code mixing in Indonesian and English on the alternative universe (AU) Twitter page on the @jhynjelly account. Alternative universe (AU) Twitter is a form of digital literary work or a type of fiction with many fans in Indonesia where the setting and situation are made different from the real life of the characters in the story. The purpose of this study is to describe the types and forms of code mixing in the Twitter alternative universe (AU) on the @jhynjelly account which tells of two people who are in a relationship who do not know each other's backgrounds, in the end they get an unexpected fate. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method. The data for this research are in the form of words, phrases and clauses which include mixing Indonesian and English codes in uploads to the Twitter account @jhynjelly. The results of this study show that there are: types of exit code mixing namely; insert code mixing (Insertion); mix code alternation (alteration); mixing code congruent lexicalization (congruent lexicalization); as well as the forms of code mixing obtained in the form of words, phrases and clauses
