The writer carried out in class VIII-7 of the SMP Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. This researcher used the qualitative approach with ethnography by using PURPOSIVE sampling technique for selecting 27 students from class VIII-7 as the data . The data were collected by observation and video recording. The result of study is initiation&nbsp; because initiation is the main role who acted as the initiator of a topic or conversation in order to get feedback and response. The students are already able to find sufficient initiative topics when they want to open a conversation, because the initiative isn’t complicated when giving feedback and responses. Initiative is the same as basic greeting which does not require complicated vocabulary to follow topics such as feedback and respond. This research was classified as a true-experimental study. It involved 30 students from two groups, Class VII<sup>7 </sup>(15 students) as control group and Class VII<sup>8</sup> (15 students) as the experimental group. The control group was students taught using conventional technique whereas the experimental group was students taught using of comic strip. The data were obtained by using pre-test and post-test. The data of the pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using inferential statistics (SPSS 24). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test score, it is found that that t<sub>count </sub>(.491) &gt;t<sub>table </sub>(2.172) at the significance level α =0.05 with the degrees of freedom (df) = 14, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The researcher carried out at the eight grade of SMP N 1 Dolok Pardeamean. This research used the quantitative approach with an experimental design by using the one-group design by cluster sampling technique for choosing 30 students and every student would give the pre-test and post-test for data collection. The technique of collecting the data is by using the statistic application called SPSS 21.0 version. Based on the result of the hypothesis testing that the T-counted is greater than T-table (Tcounted = 9,543 &gt; Ttable = 1,699). This means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted it can be conclude that the TAI and CIRC method is effective for improving students' vocabulary, as evidenced by the rejection of the null hypothesis and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis based on statistical analysis. The study used a correlational approach method. The data collection technique in this study is a test in the form of an essay and is divided into 2, namely &nbsp;Pre-test&nbsp; and Post-test. The data processing technique in this study is correlational. The results of this study were obtained from the results of&nbsp; pre-test&nbsp; and post-test data.&nbsp; The results of&nbsp; the pre-test data obtained with&nbsp; the number of 4501 with the lowest value of 65 and the highest value of 82, the average obtained was 72.5. The results of&nbsp; the post-test data obtained with the &nbsp;number of 4903 with the lowest value of 70 and the highest value of 90, the average obtained was 79.08. The result value using the correlational formula is 0.71. This research was classified as a true-experimental study. It involved 64 students from two class, as the experimental class 32 students and as the control class 32 students. The experimental and control class was students taught using essay test form story Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih. The data were obtained by using pre-test and post-test. The data of the pre-test and post-test of both groups were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic. (SPSS 26.0). The result of the research shows that the testing hypothesis of post-test score is 86,56, shows that t<sub>count </sub>(0,970) &gt; t<sub>table</sub>&nbsp; (2,188) at the significance level a = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 11. This was a research with quantitative approach. The method in this research was true experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The samples were 60 students of junior high school, 30 students classified as the experimental group and 30 students as the control group. It was used the writing test for the instrument and the data was analyzed using SPSS 2.6. The results of the data analysis indicate that hypothesis testing of posttest scores, it is found that t<sub>count</sub> = 8.973 &gt; t<sub>table</sub> = 1,699 at the significance level &nbsp;= 0,05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 29, null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that there are significantly differences on students’ skill by using Project Based Learning (PjBL) and without using Project Based Learning (PjBL) in writing in procedure text at seventh grade of SMP Swasta YPK Pematang Siantar. This is also supported by Sholihah (2017) that Porject Based Learning gives the experience to students discussing and develops their critical thinking. The learning activity also is not teacher centered, because the researcher asked the students to design a plan and record video with the topic they choose. While the students were doing the project, the researcher was monitoring the progress of their project. This project increased the teamwork so that student could be more active in learning activity. After doing the video project, the students asked to write down the procedure text step by step based on the video they made. Based on the formulation of the problem above, the researcher focuses on conducting research on analyzing grammatical errors in writing narrative texts. In this research, the researcher employed qualitative research, also known as descriptive research. The researcher used the surface structure taxonomy framework proposed by Dulay, Burt, and Krashen (1982)&nbsp; which categorizes errors into four types: omission, addition, misinformation, and misordering. It is located in the Jalan Medan Km 6,5. KecamatanSiantarMartoba, Kota PematangSiantar.There were 92 errors found by researchers on narrative texts made by 15 students of XI PMIA 1 hat were enough to pass the minimum score..It can be concluded that even though they are students with higher class references considered as students who have better language skills, they can still make errors. The percentage of misinformation was 44%, followed by Omission at 34%, then an additional 15%, and the latter misleading at 7%. From the analysis can be seen that the ability of students is still not perfect in writing narrative text. This research is quantitative research using experimental method. Subjects of this research are 42 students that are divided into two classes, namely control class (21) and experiment class (21). The researcher used cluster random sampling technique to determine the sample. The researcher collected the data using test and observation. Furthermore, the data was analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis technique and the hypothesis used t-test. Hypothesis test shows that contextual teaching and learning is more effective to improve students’ reading comprehension. This can be seen from the results of test score, it shows that the experimental class which was given treatment using contextual teaching and learning got higher score than control class without contextual teaching and learning. It was obtained that rxy is 0.456 and then rxy is consulted to the critical value for r table of Product Moment to examine whether rxy value is significant or not. The value of r table with N = 21 and the 5% significant level is 0.312. Therefore, it can be concluded that rxy is greater than r table in the other words, 0.456 is greater than 0.312. This study used narrative literature review method. Thus, the data in this study were collected from eight research journals applied CTL learning model in improving English learning outcomes, in general, and learning outcomes in listening, speaking, and writing materials, in particular. The eight research journals were published research. The results of the study showed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model was effective in improving student learning outcomes in learning English. Therefore, this learning model can be an alternative choice for improving student learning outcomes in English learning classroom. However, success in using CTL is very dependent on the material chosen and the person/teacher who uses it in the classroom.
