Abstract

Palm oil has a strategic role in the Indonesian economy. First, palm oil is one of the nine basic commodities needed by society, so the price must be affordable for all levels of society. Second, as one of the mainstay agricultural commodities for non-oil and gas exports, as a source of foreign exchange and tax earnings. Third, create job opportunities and at the same time improve community welfare. The economic potential of oil palm plants is very large. This research is about the views or perceptions of the community regarding the existence of oil palm plantations, namely PT. PP London Sumatra Indonesia, Tbk. Using descriptive qualitative research. This descriptive qualitative method is research to obtain information about a situation according to the situation that existed at the time of conducting the research. This research is not intended to test a predetermined hypothesis but only uses what is available regarding an event or situation. This research is used because the problem being studied requires a disclosure whose research is descriptive in nature. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the researchers came to the conclusion, the public’s perception of the existence of the Palm Oil Plantation Company PT.PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk, the people of Naga Timbul village, Tanjung Morawa subdistrict give a positive perception
