Abstract

Agriculture is a major sector in meeting food needs and a source of livelihood for rural communities. Rice plays a strategic role because it is the staple food for the majority of the Indonesian population. The implementation of sustainable wetland rice farming still faces obstacles, such as farmers managing wetland rice farming only to meet their family's food needs, so it has not produced a surplus that can be marketed, rainfed land locations, and farmers' dependence on government assistance. The aim of this study is to analyze the sustainability status and leverage attributes of wetland rice farming in Sungai Manau Village, Kuantan Mudik District. The research method used is a survey method with a sample size of 67 respondents taken by accidental sampling. Data analysis was carried out using the Multi-Dimensional Scaling method through RAP-Paddy software. The research results show that rice farming in Sungai Manau Village has a sustainability status of 69.55 or fairly sustainable, with the economic dimension being fairly sustainable with an index value of 71.56, the ecological dimension fairly sustainable with an index value of 53.94, and the social dimension very sustainable with an index value of 83.15. The determination coefficient (R²) value of 0.94 and the stress value of 0.14 indicate that the model has a good level of fit. The sensitive attributes of the economic dimension are rice productivity, utilization of capital institutions, and farm viability. The sensitive attributes of the social dimension are education level, farmer age, time allocation for farming, government assistance programs, extension intensity, farming experience, and activity in farmer groups. The sensitive attributes of the ecological dimension are pest and disease control, and seed usage.
